Jack Ross had been staring at his laptop for thirteen minutes. Every five minutes he jiggled his wireless mouse, ridding the screen of the power save function. Once the image was back, it revealed a word document with two words at the top in bold, Times New Roman font and size twenty. In plain black these words read, CHAPTER 36. Fifty year old women do not waste away in nursing homes. Women do not go through menopause in nursing homes. Women without grandchildren do not reside in nursing homes. Women who are the proper age for being the president or CEO of a major corporation do not knit quilts and pillow cases in nursing homes. Women who still have their feminine wiles do not flaunt them in nursing homes. Unless, of course, their name happens to be Katherine Talbot.
