I wake up again in the middle of the night in a cold sweat from the same nightmare that I have been having since my mother met this mean, ugly, disgusting, dope addict of a boyfriend.
He is rude to her, and hardly ever say a word to me. He looks at me like I am the reason he can’t totally dominate my mother like he would like. When he does speak to me it’s in one word phrases like nope and yep.
He don’t work, but he seems to always have money, I would see him cou...

It is five-thirty in the morning and I am up getting ready for work when I hear a commotion next door at my friends Don and Mary’s house. I walk over to the window and look out to see if I can see anything going on and my eyes almost popped out of their sockets at the sight I saw. There were at least five armed men standing in the front yard and others inside, just then there was a loud pop and then another that sounded like gunfire then two others came out and joined the five in the ya...

Its three o’clock in the morning and me and three other friends are on our way to our favorite casino in Oklahoma City.
My Name is Bryan and I am sitting behind the driver whose name is Marcus, and to my right is Don, in front of him is Calvin.
Just Marcus and I are awake, Don and Calvin are like babies, and they go to sleep anytime a car travels more than twenty miles.
“Hey Marcus,” I said. “How muc...

As the night fell upon the day, a red moon appeared in the west that seemed to burn hotter than the sun itself. I know this because I witnessed it first hand. My name is Elijah and as I sat at my computer that night, warmth came over me that was unusual to say the least. I got up, walked over to the window, and looked out to see what was causing such a heat wave at night especially seeing that my air conditioning was doing fine before this event took place.
I looked up into the sky and ...

I sit and watch the rain pour down
and marvel at it’s constant sound,
it causes my mind to relax
and ups my consequence to the max.
Though it pours so constantly
it never seems to bother me,
because i know it’s nurturing
not just my mind but everything.
The sound of thunder and a lighting strike
are strangely things i seem to like,
they feel as family as the rain
even though different as jo...

I can hardly breathe, there is no room here in this total insanity.
THE DARKNESS IS SOFFOCATING AND THE CRIES OF DESPAIR
FILL THE AIR. Time has come to a screeching halt and the smell of death haunts every living creature that remains.
I hear others praying in the distance while others simply scream in agony. There are those who are trapped and others who are too injured to help themselves. I seem to be literally uninjured, except for a terrible hea...

The road was dark and the only thing we could see was the road in front of us that only the headlights would allow us to see. I glanced at the clock, it was exactly 1:22 in the morning. My wife’s head lay on my shoulder as she slept quite deeply cause she had been up most of the day and night preceding our trip. I then noticed that we we’re driving into a heavy rain so I cut on the wipers, and the defrost because the windows fogged up quickly. On the radio there was a report that ...

I am still here even though I’m gone
I am in the wind that blows,
I am the thorn and the vine
that protects the rose.
Though I cannot speak I can relay
A message to the mind,
Because the spirit has the power
To reach out and to find.
I’m all around and everywhere
I exist and then again I don’t,
Don’t ever think that I will leave
Because my love, I won’t.

After I lost my folks in a deadly accident at the age of eight, I started getting visited by spirits, not of my folks, but total strangers. It made no sense to me, and it scared me very much. And as this was all happening in my life I was taken in by my Aunt Lovena, she had a nice home and she was closest to my mother, her sister. She told me that they were best friends, and that her big sister would want her to raise me.
The spirits followed me into Aunt Lovena’s home and kept on...

Lancaster, or (langkisster) as we Texans call it, is a street that holds a lot of history.
Named Jan. 7, 1931, after J. L. Lancaster, a president of the Texas & Pacific Railway.
However, today the street is the home of vagrants, Hobo’s, Transients, or The Homeless, as I like to define them. And one of these people resides under the street in sort of a flood tunnel, and his name is Gus. No one has ever gotten his last name; he just says, “My name is Gus.” He c...
