IMPORTANT NEWS

This is all information I had posted to the Facebook Group and Fan Page, and the new Google+ Page for Emerald Dragon.

First, don't panic.

• Those who are current members of the Emerald Dragon site, you need to know that we will be changing a lot of things come January 1, 2012 (actually a lot has changed already). We are putting the current site, http://myemeralddragon.webs.com/, into Archive mode. What does this mean? It means you will not be able to post any new submissions, but all current submissions will remain up for at least a year (probably longer).  You can also continue to edit or delete your current submissions.
• The site will no longer be accepting new members.
• Commenting on the site will be opened to the public, no sign-on required, so if you want to continue to share your submissions for feedback you can do so. If I can, I will keep email notifications turned on, so if someone does comment on one of your submissions you will be notified.
• As always, Admin Frank is looking out for you, so if some spammer comments or some malicious comment flies up on your story or poem, let me know via email and I'll take care of it. 

I suppose you want to know why...

• Because the site went from lagging to pretty much dead.
• We've decided maintaining a writing community is extremely time exhausting, and we just don't have the time.
• We decided to consolidate into a better platform. Something we can all get use out of, but that won't be such a time consuming entity as a writing community.
• Starting January 1, 2012 you will want to check into Emerald Dragon at http://ed.talesfrombabylon.com/. It is a sub-domain of my own writing site Tales from Babylon.
• We will be actively working on Serials and String-Alongs in 2012, and communication and sharing will primarily be taking place through Google+ and the Facebook Group. We will be decommissioning the Facebook Fan Page.

We strongly encourage writers who are serious about promoting their work to create their own blog or website. If you don't want to do that, or don't feel you are at that point yet, you may want to check out writing communities. There are still a few out there, that I am aware of... Writer's Cafe is one, as is WeBook.
