Everything was beautiful. I thought the vocals were outstanding. Question: Why aren't you on American Idol? You would win Mahal. Nice lyrics as well. Who are the musicians on this. I liked the piano. Added a touch of melancholy to it. Beautiful.

@Russell: When American Idol started, I did think of joining but unfortunately I live so far away, and now that I'm 30, I've reached their age limit.
I did all the instrumentation in this piece. Thank you so much for liking it.

This isn't really my cup of tea - I'm mostly about eighties goth and old-school heavy metal - but it is a very well constructed and performed piece, Mahal's voice really is quite lovely. I do know some people who will almost certainly love it so I've sent them a link, which is mostly what this comment is about. I hope you don't mind me doing that.
American Idol? If it's anything like Cowell's programs over here they'd just chew up something that, whatever my view on it, is clearly heartfelt and carefully constructed before spitting out something bland and horrible.
Anyway, I hope this goes somewhere great for you both and I'm now off to listen to some more wailing and dischordant riffs...Each to their own!

One thing that I admire are musicians who have an open mind and a broad perspective about music and not just being tied down to one genre. Thus, Christopher, knowing that you enjoy goth and heavy metal music but seemingly enjoyed this out-of-your-box piece has truly made me smile. I grew up and got heavily influenced by glam rock, 90's alternative and pop, but the music that I like now is a whole web of sorts, and it's great. Thanks for sharing this with your friends.
